By installing this release all expansion will be installed by default. We couldn't seperate them or make option to choose that's due to making lower size as possible as could. After installation delete what you don't like.
When you uninstall this you'll have a problem. You can't remove it from your program list, and if you try to install it again it will "repair" and the game will be unplayable.
If you have installed this once and want Sims 3 installed again, you have to install and uninstall, then install Sims 3 again. It won't work until you do that.

Does this work with mods? Or other custom content?
I mounted it, then hit autorun to install it.
Then it tells me it has to update the sims 3 game but it fails obviously. What do I do?

-- MANUALLY INSTALLING NEW EXPANSIONS --
If you want to pick and choose which expansions & stuff packs to add to this release (and potentially solve issues you have with CC), you can do the "Expansion Stuff Updates" the manual way.
For all installations, decline installing/updating the EA Download Manager (vanilla) and Origin (everthing else).
1. Navigate to the Blackbox installation folder. Find the vanilla game, and delete it. Leave the expansion folders alone.
2. Download a BASE GAME copy of TS3. Any release will do. Mount it, and install in the SAME folder as the Blackbox vanilla game. This gives you the missing game and registry files that allow updating and adding expansion packs.
3. UPDATE the game. Installing the vanilla game reverts the version number to the initial release. The game WILL NOT run without an update, and trying to install anything else before updating will make your game have a hissy fit. To make life easier for you, pick the one that matches the newest expansion/stuff pack you plan on installing. Newest is listed first.
- The University Life super patch is here: http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.50.56.0210xx_update.exe
- The Supernatural super patch is here: http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.39.3.0180xx_update.exe
If you aren't adding any more expansions, normally I would suggest getting the super patch that matches Showtime, since that's the newest part of this release. However the EA patch is buggy as all hell. So download the Supernatural one, and grab a crack for it here:
https://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/7602784/The_Sims_3_Supernatural-FLT_Crack_Only#filelistContainer
4. Install whatever other expansions or stuff packs you like, then crack the game using the files included with the NEWEST one. If you are not installing more expansions, use the update for supernatural and the crack linked above.
5. You can now grab new releases as they come since your computer treats the game just like it would if everything was installed separately.
-- UNINSTALLING & REINSTALLING --
- UNINSTALLING
1. Remove expansions via "add/remove programs" that are NOT included with the BB release.
2. Navigate to the "Sims 3 Complete Edition" folder and run "unins000.exe" from the "Complete Edition" folder: this removes the base game and all expansions included in this blackbox release.
3. Delete the "Sims 3" folder from My DocumentsElectronic Arts. This is where your mods, saves, etc are located. Back it up first if you like.
4. Restart your computer (optional).
- REINSTALLING
Essentially, instead of simply deleting the base game folder you will need to uninstall the base game. The rest of the instructions are the same.
1. Install the BB release as usual.
2. Head to the control panel's "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall the base game. You do this instead of just deleting the folder.
3. Follow the rest of the instructions as above: install the base game, update, then do the expansions applying the crack on the newest one.
If you try to just delete the folder and install TS3 Vanilla, you'll get errors. So do what it says to do: uninstall the base game.
Hope this is useful.

I've had this installed for a while now, and it all works fine, but the only problem is i cant update, nor install any other packs. that includes the new University life pack! Whenever i try to update to 1.50 from 1.36 ( i think its that) it just gives me errors and i have to system restore before anything works again. If you're looking to add on all the other packs that this doesnt have, this download probably isnt for you. If anyone's found a way around this though, please do inbox me and tell me how!
I followed the directions and completed the install. "The Sims 3 Complete Edition" shows up in my Program Files but when I click on any Sims 3 game, I get the following message: "Sims3Launcher has stopped working...Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."
OS: Windows 7

Seems the DLC isn't cooperating like many others had problems with. I moved them as suggested in your instructions, and saw many others with the same problem.
After moving, installed all of them. Pressed OK. Ran the game, and nothing was there. Just the regular expansion towns and items. Leave the game, and open back up the launcher. Go to installed content, nothing is there. Advice?
